Fun Fact: Alison loves to try new foods. One of her favorites is alligator!
Alison is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in television journalism with a minor in English at West Virginia University. A native of Charleston, West Virginia, Alison enjoyed growing up in the Mountain State, but wants to pursue her dreams in a bigger city after graduation in May of 2017.
Throughout her college career, Alison has had the opportunity to pursue several different media related internships. In the summer of 2014, Alison job shadowed at Ann Green Communications, a public relations company in South Charleston West Virginia. In the fall of 2015, Alison wrote for Her Campus WVU, an entertainment and lifestyle website for college women.
Of all her internships, Alison’s favorite and most prominent was at new South Media, Inc. NSM, Inc. publishes several West Virginia based magazines, with a readership not only in West Virginia but in several other states as well. Alison worked as a writer there and now has articles published in West Virginia Weddings and Morgantown Magazine. After her internship ended, Alison was hired to do freelance work for the company.
Alison has a passion for multi-media and for sharing stories with the public. She is committed to being a journalist who reports the truth with integrity and without bias. For these reasons, Alison hopes to pursue a career in broadcast news. In her free time, Alison loves spending time with friends and family, traveling, baking and being outdoors.
