Ashley Rogers is a senior studying broadcast journalism with a minor in sports communication graduating in May of 2017. She is an aspiring multimedia sports journalist who hopes to one day work as a sideline reporter or anchor ESPN’s SportsCenter.
Ashley spent two semesters covering WVU Sports for Mountaineer Playbook and WVU News. She was also an intern with West Virginia Illustrated. With WVI, she assisted with the production of Mountaineer Game Day which is a weekly pregame show for the West Virginia Mountaineers. Her responsibilities ranged from operating studio cameras and teleprompters to assisting reporters out in the field. In addition to her work with WVI, she served as a teaching assistant for a beginning video reporting class at WVU’s Reed College of Media, the ESPNU teaching assistant for WVU News, covered the NFL for Sportsrants.com/women, and was also an assistant producer for Mountaineer Playbook.
Ashley was born and raised in Baltimore, MD. Growing up in Baltimore she was exposed to sports at a young age. When she’s not in the classroom or working on a story, she’s either watching some of her favorite sports talk shows or working at The Mountaineer KidZone.
