Fun Fact: Briana has written and kept journals about the events that have happened in the last 8 years of her life.
Briana Parks is a fifth year senior studying broadcast journalism with minors in communication studies and political science. She was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, but considers West Virginia to be a home away from home, because she spent every summer here with family while growing up.
Briana is involved in WVU’s Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA), and the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ). She has also had an internship as a production assistant back home with Georgia Public Broadcasting. For the internship, she assisted with the daily research and production of a radio show called “On Second Thought”.
Briana has always had a passion for writing, keeping up with current events, and performing. To the outside world she lets her outgoing personality shine on stage through cheerleading, dance, and theater, but in her down-time she is constantly putting her thoughts and creativity into journaling. From these hobbies, she realized that she wanted to put her skills to use and always be in the spotlight. She aspires to one day be an entertainment television presenter, talk show host or news anchor. Briana will graduate in May of 2017 and is planning on moving to California after college to start her career.
