Fun Fact: Kristen has been a pescetarian—a form of vegetarianism—for almost 9 years.

Kristen Tuell will graduate in May 2017 from West Virginia University as a television journalism student with a minor in political science.

She is a West Virginia native and grew up in Weirton, located right outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Living so close to Pittsburgh inspired Kristen’s dreams to one-day work and live within a big city.

Kristen is currently a weekend reporter for WDTV Channel 5 News in Bridgeport, WV. She also works as the Assistant News Director at WVU’s campus radio station U92. And, she works as a communications assistant for the Reed College of Media’s Media Innovation Center. Kristen is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and the President of the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA). She is also a student ambassador for the Reed College of Media.

She is a hardworking and passionate journalist who enjoys every aspect of the news industry. She is consistently intrigued by the ever-changing industry and is excited to bring her experience, knowledge and personality to this field. With her background, she aspires to one-day anchor a news television program in a major-market network.

When Kristen is not putting all of her effort into her school work or extracurricular activities, she enjoys traveling, catching up on entertainment news, and trying new restaurants with friends and family.
