Fun Fact: I am one of seven kids.

Tessa is a senior journalism student minoring in communications at West Virginia University. She was born and raised in Annandale, Va., located right outside of Washington D.C. She is the second eldest of seven kids, with one older brother and five younger sisters. Tessa will be graduating in May 2017.

During her time at WVU, she has been a staff writer for the school newspaper, the Daily Athenaeum, a video and publishing intern for Blue and Gold News, and an intern as a staff writer for the Washington Observer Reporter in Washington, Pa. She is also a member of the Society of Professional Journalists at WVU.

The Daily Athenaeum gave Tessa her first official job as a journalist, and allowed her to hone her skills in journalism that helped her obtain her summer internship with the Washington Observer-Reporter.

Through her position with the O-R, Tessa was able to have her articles published and printed in a daily newspaper circulation that reaches readers in Washington, Greene, and Alleghany counties in Pennsylvania. Her internship with Blue and Gold News gave Tessa the opportunity to cover games, attend press conferences, and shoot and edit video to be published on their website.

After graduation, Tessa hopes to move back to Virginia, and pursue a journalism career in the Washington D.C. area.
