Each week, the Best of the Rest section features student work from WVU News not included in the final newscast.

The development of the new TIF district continues to make progress at University Town Centre. The new development will bring about large economic benefits to the Morgantown area. Reporter Josh Oyler found out how the town is reacting to the new developments.

According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, approximately 92% of U.S. adults who drink excessively report binge drinking in the past 30 days. Reporter Paige Madden looked into how the binge drinking culture and how it's affecting college students.

West Virginia leads the nation in drug overdose and substance abuse. And health professionals say that West Virginia is struggling to provide enough long tern treatment programs. Reporter Shaleah Ingram takes a closer look at drug overdoses in the mountain state.
