Each week, the Best of the Rest section features student work from WVU News not included in the final newscast.

West Virginia University and the Reed College of Media teamed up with Mediashift to host the Women's IOT Makeathon from April 1st -3rd. Reporter Tim Doney attended the event to find out more.

​A group of WVU students from the Global Medical and Dental Brigades went to Nicaragua over Spring Break to bring medical attention and supplies to those in need. Reporter Carolyn Goldstein found out more about the trip.

The WVU School of Black Culture and Research and the WVU Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion recently hosted a lecture about racism and white privilege by activist Tim Wise. Reporter Annie Malik attended the lecture and found out how these issue impact West Virginia.
