Meg Weissend is a senior at West Virginia University from Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. She majors in Broadcast Journalism and minors in Interactive Media Design. Meg was introduced to the world of media careers in high school, and found she had a passion for producing during her time at the Reed College of Media.
For years, Meg has been making videos and creating content for news outlets. She attended journalism seminars at Columbia University, wrote for local newspapers, and has taken independent film classes.
This past summer, Meg interned for an award-winning, multi-platform production company in Los Angeles. While at CALICO, she worked on Breaking Big, a new docu-series television show on PBS that investigates the stories of how celebrities, athletes, and politicians made it in the industry. CALICO has produced projects for Hulu, Showtime, ESPN, Spotify, E!, MTV, and many more.
Last semester, Meg was the Executive Producer for WVU News.
Meg is a member of the Delta Gamma Fraternity, and does late-night production assistant jobs from across the country.
After graduation, Meg hopes to work on the production team of a live TV show. She wants to move to a big city, and write scripts for the rest of her life.
