Shayla Klein

Shayla Klein is a TV Journalism student. She will  be graduating in May of 2019 with minors in Interactive Media Design and Theater. She currently works part-time at West Virginia Public Broadcasting as the Digital Reporter. You can catch her on The Legislature Today on Mondays at 6 p.m., where she hosts a new weekly social media segment.
 Shayla was among the first students to produce 360 video stories for WVU News and she helped to create the first innovative media club, called RAPID, at WVU. She was one of the first journalism students to go to China with the Reed College of Media, where she completed an internship with Guangzhou Today.
 Shayla is from Wheeling, West Virginia and began taking journalism classes at John Marshall High School. She was a part of a completely student run weekly newscast, where she was the In-Studio Guest Anchor. It was there that she discovered her love for the field.

Shayla is an award-winning journalist. She was a regional finalist in Radio News Reporting for the Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Award, and she won second place for Best Radio Event Coverage from the College Media Association.
