Sierra Davis

Sierra Davis is a senior at West Virginia University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism with a minor in sports communication and a minor in event planning. Sierra is very active in school and within her state. She is a WVU Dance Team alum, an intern with the WVU Athletics Media Board, a teaching assistant for WVU News, interns with the Mountaineer Athletic Club, and also works with media for the WV Blackbears Minor League Baseball Team.

Sierra is from Clarksburg, West Virginia, which is where she first fell in love with media and broadcasting at her high school, Robert C. Byrd. She was the head anchor for their news program. Sierra’s senior year of high school, she had the opportunity of interning at her local news station, WBOY.

Some of Sierra’s favorite memories growing up included spending time with her big family; containing over 30 cousins (and counting.) In Sierra’s spare time, she loves to travel. Family traditions have always meant a lot to her and inspired her to travel to Europe last summer to study journalism. In Summer 2017, Sierra had the opportunity to study abroad in Rome, Italy. While abroad, Sierra took a photography and media class. Not only did the trip benefit Sierra as a whole, but also allowed her to gain experience within her major as well.

Sierra plans to continue on landing internships and working hard. She is open to traveling anywhere and everywhere for a position. Her goal is to graduate in May of 2019 and eventually land a position with E! News or ESPN.
