Filming for the game

This was my second time being put on the show and therefore I was super excited. I love working the games because I’m able to network with people, and they feed you so much food. I was working on a story all week about WVU’s defenses “turnover hat.” Shooting for the story was very entertaining and I had a fun time filming it. I got a lot of film from the game, being that WVU was crushing Baylor the entire time. Multiple players celebrated throughout the game and it was by far one of the best night games I’ve been too. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to show my story being that this show was special edition. The show only consisted of things that were pertaining to politics. However, I was asked to talk on the show about title ix policies and how the country needed to strive for equality. It was a very engaging topic and I couldn’t wait for the show to begin.

On set

When I woke up and got dressed I couldn’t wait to get on set. I practiced my script a bunch of times and got all dressed up. I decided to where the black, white, and red because of a poster in my room that says “be awesome” with a man in the same suit. When I get to the station everyone got familiar with scripts and practiced in the break room. We filmed only a few times that day, I personally felt like I could’ve killed my title ix story if we got to run it one more time. But it still turned out good, so the team decided to keep it. Overall, I think we did a good job and sounded more confident on camera. Some stories were very serious but we all tried to still bring the topics to life. I’m glad I got thrown in to do the story on title ix. For more updates on my story from newscast 3 follow my twitter @ASmallWVUNews.
