Fun Fact: I have played tennis for over ten years and won a state championship in high school. She is the President and former Captain of the WVU Club Tennis Team.

Jhanvee is a senior student at WVU, majoring in journalism on a pre-medicine track with a biology minor. She is from Germantown, Maryland and plans to graduate in May of 2024 and has achieved the President’s list every semester. She studied abroad in Spain for the Spring 2023 semester. In 2022, she was a recipient of the Virginia Associated Press Broadcasters Scholarship. Jhanvee found a passion for journalism after being an anchor and producer for her high school’s live morning show, JAG-TV. As a child, she visited her grandfather who suffered from Alzheimer’s in the nursing home, which inspired her to become a doctor. The COVID-19 pandemic showed her the importance of credibility and first-hand experience in medical journalism. In college, this led her to pursue a unique career in becoming a doctor and working as a medical journalist. Jhanvee conducts research in orthopedic stem cell tissue engineering and has been published twice. She was a public information intern for Monongalia County Health Department, where she focused on creating COVID-19 vaccine information videos targeted towards the vaccine-hesitant population in West Virginia. She also has worked as a videographer for WVU Medicine. Upon graduation, Jhanvee is applying to medical school and hopes to find a journalism job in her gap year.
