Kathryn Bruch is a senior journalism student with a minor in sociology at West Virginia University. She was born and raised in Warrenton, Virginia, and will be graduating with her bachelor’s degree in May of 2024. Kathryn is currently President of WVU’s chapter of RTDNA (Radio Television Digital News Association), and previously was Vice President of New Membership Education in Sigma Kappa. She has participated in RTDNA conventions and media trips across the U.S. to build connections and opportunities. Kathryn has also been on the Dean's List during all previous semesters. Last year, Kathryn was one of the main anchors for WVU News and was also an Education/Consumer/Non-profit beat reporter. She has worked part-time at WBOY (Channel 12 news) in Clarksburg, West Virginia, and has gained real world experience in broadcasting news. Outside of school, Kathryn loves to stay active by going on hikes, working out at the gym, and hanging out with friends. After graduation, Kathryn plans on becoming an investigative journalist to create people-focused stories. A fun fact about Kathryn is that she is the youngest of five siblings, and the only girl!
