Fun Fact: Ty is both a West Virginia Golden Horseshoe Winner and an Eagle Scout.

Ty is a senior journalism major and finance minor from Madison, West Virginia. Ty has been a member of the Mountaineer Maniacs since his freshman year and has served on the Executive Board since his sophomore year. He is an avid Mountaineer fan and you can often find him in the front row of WVU sporting events. Ty has been a News Writer for the Daily Athenaeum since he was a freshman and enjoys talking to people on campus about current events at WVU. He has earned Dean’s List honors each semester since the spring of 2022. Ty has worked with WVNS-TV 59 News during the 2019 World Scout Jamboree as the official Scout Reporter, and Boone Memorial Health’s External Affairs Department as a Marketing Intern. Upon graduation in May of 2024 with his Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism, he plans to return to WVU and pursue his master’s degree in the fall. Ty’s career goal is to be a reporter and work his way up to a news anchor position in a top twenty TV market.
