These past two weeks have been a whirlwind! In between preparing for show eight and the special edition show, we’ve been working nonstop. I know I say this about every show, but this show is now my new favorite. I really liked the script and filming was a breeze. We had our news meeting, and as usual I jumped in filming standups.
Over the weekend, I attended the West Virginia Broadcasters Association conference in Charleston. I had a great time and learned so much! On the way there and back I worked on the script as much as I could.
I really liked this script, especially the toss into social square. I was stuck on how to tie in car research in with everything else in the show. I was in the car on my way back to Morgantown and I was thinking of the movie Back to the Future. Now, I haven’t watched the movie, but I remember when it was October 21st, 2015. That was Back to the Future day and I remember people talking about all of the predictions that were made in the movie. So, I did some researching and found out that some of the predictions were right…however flying cars were not. So…that’s where I got that toss from.
The next week was really busy. We had to film on Wednesday and packages were also due on Thursday. I was filming left and right all week.
During the day of the show, I had to lead the newscast along with the graduate assistant and teaching assistant. I was a little nervous at first but everyone did a great job! We got done early and the final take was flawless. As soon as we were done filming? Back to working on the next story.
I honestly can’t remember everything that happened during the prep for show eight because so much was going on. However, it was so much fun and I am so pleased with our finished product.
Now? Time for the special edition show!
