Newscast #3 - Elisa Schwartzmiller - Spring 2020

Another newscast has come and gone and this week was definitely stranger than normal. This week writing the script went really fast. I think that I finally have a system to how I write. Its hard to just sit down and write it all the way through. You have to write piece by piece and get it down as you go in small sections so you don’t lose you mind completely. I wrote the script in a shorter time this week and had only 22 mistakes. Improvements are being made so I’m starting to feel more confident for sure.

         The newscast was strange, not because of any mistakes or us; we were just a little unsure of the future. We just got news that WVU will be moving classes to online and we all are just unsure what that means for us. I was thrown off a little Wednesday, spring break is the upcoming week and the transition to online classes just left us all unsure. We still got a good take and it was on time!!! I have had such bad issues with timing and I got it and it was exact!!! I felt so good about that because we needed it, we have been struggling to get to 14:30 exactly so I am pretty happy with everything despite the weirdness that went on.

I think there were some really big improvements and just weird circumstances. I was thrown off Wednesday but I need to be prepared for situations like that because life will happen and I will have to be on my game no matter what.

I was really proud of everyone for bringing it together and getting the job done. I’m not sure what the future holds for us or if anyone will see another newscast from us or see a blog from me but I really hope you all do.

For now, its time to relax and recharge because we need to be ready for whatever this semester throws at us. Be safe if you are traveling and take care of yourself. #LookGoodFeelGood
